Joe Charma - Metal Sculptor

​

Joe’s work explores his diverse interest in the abstract as well as natural world.  His work focuses on creating detailed plant sculptures that capture the soft, suppleness of nature juxtaposed to the hard, rigidity of steel.  He also enjoys creating functional art pieces.

Since attending the Welding Workshop, hosted by noted metal sculptor, Stan Smokler, in 2011, Joe has attended that workshop annually.  Continuing to develop his metal working skills and techniques, Joe was named as a teaching assistant at the workshop in 2018.

 

Joe has exhibited his sculptures at the Oxford Arts Alliance Gallery, Newark Arts Alliance Gallery, the Delaware Contemporary, the Delaware College of Art and Design, and has collaborated with artist and floral designer, Theresa Clower, at the University of Delaware
